The Jack Merwin Memorial Award for active living is given to an individual or team who have shown commitment to active living and participate enthusiastically in sports, recreation and/or leisure activities on a regular basis.
This award is given to someone who has a good attitude about trying to maintain their health and live actively in the community. This award was renamed in honour of a former board member who exemplified the spirit of courage. As an active person who acquired a disability, through a challenge, did not get in his way. He travelled, skied, golfed, curled, volunteered, made friends and lived life well.
